Sick of Repetitive Dermatitis?

This patient has had repetitive dermatitis for a few years. It was getting worse recently when she came to see me.

You can see red, raised, rough, itchy areas of skin with scaling around her neck and armpit.

Repetitive Dermatitis

She mentioned that she tended to get it more often if she had a lot of stress, was tired, and lack of sleep.

She also remembered that the night before she had the rash on her neck the next day, she had spicy food, which she didn’t usually have.

After conducting a comprehensive consultation, which included assessing various organ systems, diet, daily habits, pulse, and tongue examination, I determined that she had blood deficiency leading to dryness and wind, along with blood stasis and heat due to yin deficiency in traditional Chinese medicine. I prescribed a one-week course of herbal medicine for her, and she reported a 50% reduction in itchiness. Notably, her tongue exhibited significant improvement, transitioning from a dark red color with a thin yellow coating to a lighter red shade with a thin white coating, as depicted in the picture.

I adjusted the herbal medicine prescription for two more weeks for her as her condition had changed and improved.

Her feedback was that she didn’t have any symptoms now, not even with rash, or redness on her skin.
